It's a Woohoo Weekend...

Hi folks...the first day of February and my little corner of the world is sitting under a blanket of snow...January decided to go out with a bit of a blizzardy bang...
just in time for our Saturday silly o'clock "christening the new coat" stroll and once again the media and weathermen are...excuse the pun...whipping up a storm about the SEVERE WEATHER...don't make me laugh...it's WINTER and absolutely normal...now if the snow were to reach the top of the windows and we were all marooned indoors for a month...that would be SEVERE.
And in between strolls...the cubbyhole crew were busy busy nailing the magazine commission but not without a huge search and rescue exercise first to find just the right papers...
and I found myself on a "not before time" mission to sort sift and thin out the paper stash department and woohoo...finally we found this bundle of long forgotten Vintage Prima gorgeousness...no excuses...I hold my hands up to suffering from the old familiar "look...stroke and tuck away for a rainy day" syndrome...
And the biggest woohoo of all...I'm a hooping and a-hollering...muchly excited that my Off on a Tangent Project won the January Fresh Ideas Challenge over at Art With Heart and the gorgeous 3D Oven Die will soon be taking up residence in the cubbyhole...
Stay warm and cosy wherever you are
See you all tomorrow
Hugs Kath xxx

  3. That was he type of weather we had hit down in this part of the UK, about 1.30pm but it then turned to heavy rain so the snow didn't stay.
Congrats on your win - have fun playing with your prize.

  6. What a FABULOUS blog you have Kath. I'm a 'new' visitor and have spent far too much time reading, looking, gazing, whooooing and ahhhhh ing on your posts - as well as falling in love with your fur buddy! (He's just adorable!).

I'm going to be a regular visitor because you make me feel so at home with you. So much so that I feel like I'm sat across the way from you in your craft room. A truly great feeling.

Hope the snow warms up a bit for you - we're lucky down here in the South (Dorset) we've had none so far!.

Have a wonderful February, and a truly blessed rest of your day! ~ Cobs. x

  8. Hi Kath, congrats on your win, you deserve it of course, I'm sure it will be used many times. Your right about the snow warnings, what a carry on they hold nowadays about some wind and snow. It's only folk who live out in the country and have to feed livestock really know what snowstorms are like, a cancelled journey to the shops is a hardship nowadays. I dare say it's the volume of traffic that causes the problems compared to many years ago, we had to walk everywhere so that made your mind up to stay at home. It is really cold though, good job you have a nice new coat to keep you cosy... Trish

  9. I am so thrilled that you won Kath, I know you will do wonderful things with the oven! I really love those Prima papers and look forward to seeing you work your magic with them.

I think Trish, above, is right, it is the volume of traffic plus the roads not being cleared that causes more problems than the snow. We live in a village, surrounded by hills and we could not get up the road the other day because of the ice, but 4 by 4s just shoot up the hills. Today we have been out for the day, we still have lots of snow and ice but the next town over has none!

    Hugs, Anne xx
